Star Trek Federation faction style mod - preview

Hey guys, as some of you may have seen in the 'show your ships' and 'share your template' threads, I'm working on a stable of Federation/Starfleet ships from Star Trek!

 

Due to getting a little annoyed at having to manually design and upgrade craft with my new templates, and having found Dumhed's excellent guide (here: https://forums.galciv3.com/465834/page/1/) I started work on a custom ship style

 

Here is a preview of the work in progress:

 

The Federation style and colour palette in the Custom Race creator (I'm still working on colours too, trying to get the lights right)

 

 

The ship templates I've completed so far - excluding Cargo hulls.

No offence but I always hated that bug-eyed Klingon. May I suggest the Klingon ambasador from Star Trek 4 & 6.

 

 or maybe Gen Chang?

This is awesome! Looking forward to other races and eras! The Klingons and Romulans obviously. The Dominion's would be great as well as the Cardassians. Can't forget the Borg of course. Probably not possible, but I'd love it if you could force the shipyard near Earth to be Utopia Planitia in style.

Yeah I can do that, but I don't have a model for it yet!

 

I'd really like another Huge ship model, as STO's Odyssey class is the only one I've made so far, and I"m having trouble finding other interesting looking fed ships/concepts that aren't just giant Sovereigns...

 

 

As for the other races, the hard part is actually getting the ship templates. With a decent stable of ships making a basic custom ship style isn't too challenging... until you want to do stuff like have particular ships appear at certain tech levels :P
