Can faction files be read, to use their traits and descriptions in XML mods?

Don't worry, for once I'm not here for REAL technical issues. My mind works in a weird way... Sorting folders annoyed me, and now that mods work I can sit with XML files for HOURS.

But I don't want too many hours... I'm curious if there's a way to take information from actual game-made custom factions and use them in mods. And I don't mean just rip .FACTION files apart, that would be crazily unstable xD

I ask because I sort of made all my Mass Effect races with the in-game tool, but now I realise that I will need proper mod folders for a flotilla ship style, uniquely named planets e.t.c. but I can't be bothered describing 8 or so factions with an unappealing-looking editor.

If it's not possible, no worries. I'm just curious if there's a way to make this process easier.

Sadly not possible.

Ah well. The XML method wasn't designed for those who are recreating factions they already have, typing out descriptions will probably only take a few minutes, might find and undo some typos along the way.

Well, with my own setup I use 2 screens one running the game and the other with the xml's open to make changes. You could look at everything you have set with the in-game editor on 1 screen and the xml on the other.

Other than that, I haven't seen another way to do it, but I feel your pain as I made all of mine with the editor at first xD
