1.02 kinetic weapon mass weirdness

Hey there, I just opted in to 1.02 and was checking out some things in the Default tech tree on a new tiny world when I noticed that kinetic weapons seemed really light. So I looked further in the tech tree and found this:

 

Odd... surely they're not all supposed to have the same mass.

 

Then I checked it with my ship-building save, using the Terran tech tree, and saw this:

All the same mass, but higher than for the new save. 

 

Pretty sure there's something buggy here, but I"m not sure what exactly.

1.02 patch notes say they made Kinetics lighter.  They used to weigh 28, then lighter and now lighter still.  All the same size is correct though, they always were.  The truth is they don't do crap for damage and have less than half the range of missiles, but you can buy a lot of them and they have an amazing rate of fire.

They actually mentioned making all the mass the sames, may nee to be adjusted but prob not a bug

I certainly think the current mass is good for early-game kinetics. Late-game kinetics would be obscenely powerful at only 6 base mass. As it is now, Graviton Throwers are better than level 2 Durantium Drivers, and Singy Drivers are a whopping five times better. Normally, each increase in weapon level adds +1 to the mass cost, so if that follows, that means Singularity drivers will be 10 mass once they're done. I'm sure this is only a first test.

Yah I think 6 is perhaps a bit too light (that's without any mass reducing tech at all), but I certainly understand making them lighter than they were. I was more surprised that for my high-tech terran they were way heavier than for a new game. Perhaps a save/legacy issue?

The xml files are compiled together for each new game, if you open an older save game it will be operating from a different set of parameters.
