Good review. I think that people who come from first person shooters or Xcom based games give non tactical 4x games a slight negative bias for lack of 'tactical' control. The other reveiw was fair as well. 

 

Most of the Game review sites have received GC III well actually. The biggest issue they all have is ADD. They don't want to micro an empire on Insane or Excessive with lots of planets. 

 

Personally I am really really happy with the game, although I have had the benefit of seeing it grow from Alpha to release. Leaps and bounds ahead of GCII.
