Ive never once had a united planets meeting.

Is this a bug with my game? Every since ive been playing since beta 2 ive never ever experienced a UP meeting. Is there a certain technology i need? Please help as this is a huge concern.

Did you turn it off in the options menu when you start a game by mistake?

I am curios about something, do minors count toward the required number of factions to meet before the UP starts?

No. Only the major races.

I met 5/7 majors, no minors and still no UP after about 10 turns I think.

Ah, that would explain it.  That does bring up an interesting dynamic in the larger maps with a handful of civs. 

 

Although, personally with 9 empires (one of which is me, so 8 other empires), I've definitely come across 4 of them and not had any meetings either.  Is it half or "more than half"?
