Please use trade offers for Alien demands

Occasionnally, a pop-up will appear where a civilization will tell you.  The presence of a starbase such and such in our ZOC is against our interest please remove it.   Followed by a yes or no option.

Now this popup does not identify clearly which civilization is demanding this.   We don't see the representative of the civilization nor do we see the logo of that civilization.

It would be a lot better if the diplomacy trade menu was used and this was presented as a trade offer.   The offending starbase would be what the other civilization demands (and we could not remove it from the list of what is demanded).   Basically they would demand initially our starbase for free.

That civilization may have in our zone an offending starbase so we could make it quid pro-quo.    The current dialogue menu does not allow for this negociatiating it is an all or nothing.

When I received this demand, my civilization greatly out-gunned that foreign civilization so it would make more sense to me for the demanding civilization to be a bit more diplomatic.

The same thing goes for tributes that are demanded by minor civilization.  They should use the trade menu for this and present their demand in a way that what is asked for cannot be removed from the menu from the person making the demand.   The text of the demand could be shown in an area of the screen that makes it clear that the civilization is demanding somethig.

I want the opposite, I want the option to make demands of the AI like the AI currently does to us.

I have never had such a message, so far. I don't build culture star bases, outside my ZOC, because they don't seem to have the dramatic effect that they did in GCII, and I have not yet had a complaint about mining or relic bases. I may see that in the future, but nothing yet.

I agree with JG on this post, I would love to see the AI ask for the starbase in trade versus demanding it be destroyed.  To me request to destroy starbase should be one of the trade options if there is a starbase in another ZOC.

If the civlization obtains the starbase they may not want it destroyed anymore or they can choose to decomission it.

However I can see a case where a player might consent to destroying the base but wouldn't want the civilization using this starbase for example if it is a military starbase.

If I got such a message and wanted to appease the AI, I would just go to the trade screen and make a nice deal for the SB. I suspect they would give you a pretty penny.

How about having a bar showing how the other empire is rating us. Any choice, settlement within ZOC, or other occasions will alter their view on us positive or negative.

Such a request of removing a space station in/near their ZOC will +/- some points on that bar. The more it comes into negative, the more harsh the diplomacy from them grows (and opposite). If it gets down to a certain level, waging war is possible. On the positive side, they could reach a level where joining us in an alliance gets possible.

The current system of smilies and plus/minus indicators is nice, but just a simple way to show in which parts they have tentions. Once embassys are installed, the bar could show up more detailed information on that bar.

I find the "You know what you did" mesage less than informative.
