Delaying a turn... why can't i do just that?

Unless I don't know how it seems like it's not possible to delay a turn during tactical battle.

On occasion it would be nice to be able to delay your turn. I don't see why it's not permitted. If my 4 units move first what difference does it make if the third one acts first and then the others assuming the INI is high enough of course?

In MOM I could select the unit that I wanted to act first and get them to do their action. Not so in this game.

I assume there is a good reason...

Tactical combat works differently in this game then Master of Magic. If I remember correctly in MOM each unit moved once per round. In Fallen Enchantress units can move multiple times per "round" based on the unit speed. It's the same system games like Final Fantasy Tactics move. Every step a units init score is added to their charge time. When this bucket fills they get to act. Once solution I believe could be modded in is to have a special wait ability for every unit that doesnt have the defense bonus but you only loose half of your initiative bucket each turn. The problem with this is you could move then wait, move then wait and move warp speed across the battlefield.
