New player with some questions/frustrations

Hi all, I've been having some trouble with the tactical battles, namely, unit positions.  Is there a way to position how your units will appear on the tactical map?  I've tried clicking and dragging the units around on the strategic map but they won't move.  Do I have to separate the units then join them back together in a specific order to get the arranged right?  The problem I'm having is that the units with the highest initiative keep spawning in the center of my army and are almost always blocked unless it's a wide open map.  It's driving me nuts because the most battles, the first one or two activation's I get, I have to pass because the units with initiative can't move or attack anything.

Is there a way to fix this?

In the next patch, units will be able to move through friendly units. Until then, it is what it is.

Please not!! I like it the way it is a lot. You have to think more about positioning your units. Please don't change this :)

But another question (even if i'am absolutely not frustrated ;) ): I'm searching the Forum, reading the manual (even the new LH one) and try to google it, but i can't find the real description which way the swarm mechanic works?

Would be nice if this new feature could be explained in game in the hiergamemnon.

An attacking melee unit gets +1 Attack and +5 Accuracy for each friendly unit adjacent to the enemy, indicated by the attack animation. Swarm does not kick in if you use a ranged or special attack/ability, only when using the standard right-click attack.

and in mine, only +5 accuracy. XD Much more balanced.

ahh thx :)

Question: Where get i those informations by myself?

And another newbie question: I designed my very first units in a game and have read that it is possible, that even the AI uses this units in future games. Where is the option to turn that on or off? And what are your suggestions, is it usefull that the AI uses them or not so, because the AI uses them maybe wrong?

If you really want to prevent your custom units from being used by the AI, you can delete the designs manually. They are in the C:\...\Documents\My Games\LegendaryHeroes\Units

I'm sure it's not the answer that you're looking for, but keep an eye out for Flickering Rings. When a hero wears one he/she can cast Blink, which teleports them to a free square on the battlefield - great for when they are stuck behind other units in bottlenecks.

I think there's also a Rescue trait that allows a hero to swap places with an allied unit, which you could use to get that hero into a better position on the battlefield.

Another thing: Trade Knowledge

I don't get the point why in all cases the value of my tech knowledge is 3 and this of my opponent 4.

Wouldn't it be of more sense, to make a difference being influenced by what the other one need?

Example:

I have only 1 point in Warfare and 20 in Magic.

My opponent has 120 Warfare and 1 Point in Magic.

So i put 1 point of magic in the pool and get a value of 4 and the AI put 1 point of warfare and get the same value.

Certainly there have to be more factors than that (maybe the AI Race doesn't need magic at all), but in my current game it is a little bit boring, that always i have to give more value than the AI.

Can't do much thinking when it's not possible to initially position the units.

One feeble solution is to do Quick Save before the battle then redo it if the formation is bad.

So the real point is to position the units at the beginning :)

I would like to see a trait, which give us the opportunity to do so (like in HOMM).

About swarm bonus. Some units (wolves, etc.) have a swarm bonus, meaning they get a better 'benefit' from swarm attacking.
