Can you build boats (outside of the main scenario) ?

Apologies if this has been asked recently.   Is there any way to construct ships to transport units around?  I've seen a number of randomly-generated maps spawn islands, but as far as I can tell the only way to reach them is the "raise land" spell, which honestly seems insane compared with just building some simple sailing vessels.

Yea but in rare cases i have made copius use of the "raise terrain" spell to access them if needed.  last game I needed to do that to get to Tarth which spawned on the island for the conquest victory.

pain in the butt but it was doable.

Which is more or less the way in which it was done in Elemental: WoM as well.

 

According to Dev statements we´ll see ships soon however, as they plan to incorporate them in most maps of the upcoming map pack.

The ships in these DLC maps are likely of a similar variety as the ones in the campaign.

Probably won't see buildable ships until the expansion for FE. (LH)

I don't see how that would work, but maybe I'm being too optimistic. The maps would have to have there own xml to enable ships, and whats the point if the AI can't use it?

But I worry if there won't disband boat, because last time I playing in campaign and in war of magic older game, you can't disband boat when you don't need (war of magic had a fee gold but campaign don't, it's free) Still, I like disband boat so my computer can run better when I'm done with boat....
