Avatar image problems tonight

I first noticed there were some issues tonight with Avatars when Frogboy's avatar was loading as the UFO/alien guy. When I tried to change my avatar to a different picture file, I got the following error:

Upload Error:

The image could not be removed. Please try again later

Is there something going on with Avatar pictures?

This issue was mentioned on Monday, and was appearantly checked and subsequently fixed. Looks like the issue has reappeared (or continued), but I'm sure the spanner guys (web devs) will look at it again asap.

(Avatars are not a vital part of the site's function, so it's not a high priority issue)

Just let us know when Avatars are working. I'd like to change mine.

Also, maybe it would be helpful to sticky this in the meantime since it's a known issue?

Had it been an issue with a vital function of the site then 'stickying' it would have been of benefit, yes - but it's not.

It's on the list to be looked at/fixed.

Still not fixed or problem reappeared, I don't know. I just checked right now and it's not working.

Thanks! I'll have to give it a shot later.

I get a runtime error when I click on the link.

This is what I get:

Server Error in '/accounts' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

the link tried to put [\QUOTE] at the end of the web address.  I had to delete that bit to go to the web page.

Note to others:

Do not use the link in reply #35.  The quote has broken it. Just use the one in reply #33
