[.86] ridiculous way too easy

I don't know what others' experience is, but blitzing other nearby factions constantly, from early to end game, makes any difficulty feel just the same, regardless of map size.  Enemies may build tons armies, but they are weak against my 'charge' + 'initiative' boosted cavalry (horse/warg), regardless of champions or drakes/dragons on my side.  I just blitz them all with my units with the charge talent and initiative.  Nothing could stop me rolling them over.  Game's usually over when I'm only half way through the warfare tech tree, and not even there for the others.

I wonder if there's anything the AI could do to counter my rapid expansion and conquests?

Try change the monsters numbers to dense. It makes a much more interesting game, as you will have to fight the wild for expansion instead of crushing easy AI targets. I love it :d

End of joasoze's quote

I always have monsters set to be dense, with other parameters set to the middle option.  Monsters are awesome sources of even more epic powers to my champions, and I love the exp gained as well.  I even feel the monsters help boost me greatly.

Side note: Enemy factions don't pick up goodies, which was mentioned in one of the dev notes, and would be tweaked.

Agree, way to easy, once you know how to play beginning of a game

We have to hope that the new AI patch that will be done will fix most of those problems. Like having pionneers in a battle stack

I know this AI is easy but I also read that Frogboy and his team are working on making it better. I for one can,ty wait for the new Ai adjustments,

I think units without an attack rating should be considered 'non combatants' and unable to participate in tactical battles.

The AI should be aware of this, and 'combat initiations' with one side having no attack ... should create an 'auto-win' for the opposing team. (no losses, no mana spent)

Even if you don't want to be a modder, I suggest learning how to make your own difficulty preferences. In ElementalDefs.xml you can change monster spawn rates, how many of them there are and how far away they will be allowed to spawn from your starting position. It only takes a minute to tweak and can make the beta much more fun.
