Games that lag/dc as much as Demigod

Has anyone ever played a game that has such a large percentage of it's games ruined due to increadible lag or mass disconnects (a year after release)?  I've played dozens, probably hundreds of games over the last two decades and I can't think of any.

I really want to punch a hole through my wall, but instead I'm posting here.

No ; it's right. It is a true problem for the survival of this game. And no communication on this for the future.

And future is gloomy.

I think it´s even getting worse than in the release time of the game. Nearly every second game is unplayable due to lagging although the connection of theplayers are very well !

LoL is quite a fun game tbh ^^  I can honestly say, I do like that game :)  I'd play it more if it wasn't for DG.

My characters only level 11 on the Europe servers and even lower on the US servers so I don't exactly play it that much...but it's a good game.  But playing it feels like I'm playing something about 3 years behind where demigod is at :(

HoN...I played that for the first time yesterday and I was pretty unimressed.  It's not as fun as LoL, and the thing that really bugged me was how crap the minimap was and my inability to zoom around to see the whole battle arena.  My view is limited to a tiny isometric style box that tells me very little about what my teammates are doing...this, in my view, makes it strategically pretty pathetic :/  Or at least, very awkward.

The interface isn't as nice as LoL, and the character designs aren't as interesting either.

Also, the other thing that bugged me about HoN was how crap the terrain was, and how it was actually really difficult (because of the rubbish darkly lit graphics) to see whether the terrain could in fact be walked over or not!

The only thing I could say particularly good about HoN in comparison to other games was when I went online there were currently over 44,000 people playing.  Why?  After that experience, I honestly have no idea :/

LoL is free to download, so it's easily worth a shot     It's not without its flaws, but IMHO it's a pretty good game.

HoN is still in beta, and I've not spent that long on it, but so far i'm thinking it's a bit bad :S

HoN is really bad because it's trying to be a clone of a 10 year old mod for a game with extreme limitations of that time period.  As you mentioned, it's view distance is locked to about 3 feet above your characters shoulders and you can't rotate or pan the camera.  Why?  Because that is how DotA was.  Why was DotA like that?  Because that's how Warcraft III was.  Why was Warcraft III like that?  As I recall reading about a decade ago it was due to cpu/gpu limitations at the time, if people could pan/rotate the camera at will it would have lagged too much.  Flash to 10 years in the future and the HoN developers are incorporating this 'feature' into their game...  (Having to move a mouse that much is REALLY, REALLY bad for your wrists btw)

Having to get the killing blow on creeps to get gold is absolutely stupid as well.  I suspect that was a limitation of the modding capability of Warcraft III which is also an awesome new 'feature'.  It's like game design is going backwards with HoN.

All that being said about it, I can log into a game 24 hours a day and within seconds I have a 5v5 and it never, EVER lags.  If someone dcs (which happens way less than dg) they can come right back.  Also I can play with my friends from Europe and Brazil without any noticable lag thanks to the optimized locations of servers, both of them at the same time no less which is completely impossible in dg.

I never played total war online, I always wanted campaign mode and only last week did a total war game finally ship with it so I'll give that a try in due time.

Anyway, I'm really sick of stupid things like dying because you spam sigil for 3 straight seconds but it never goes off, or it takes oak 6.5 seconds to tp when he shields even though you cast it immediately after shield.

No you aren't.  See you when I get back from class in 5 hours! Better not leave me waiting while you try to beat 2 beasts as Rook with an AI reg again!

I did infact 1v2 a couple UB's as rook, which in and of itself made it worth it.  The replay also didn't save correctly and won't upload even if it did.  Oh well.  Yet another example of 2x people dcing at the same time.

And no Synn, even if I had a point I don't care enough to think about what it might have been.  Besides, who posts on e-forums with points?

The total war series.

Stronghold series.

i played 2 online games of empire:total war when it first came out (i think after 1 update too) and it was the laggiest game i've ever played online lmao

the men would honestly move in .3x speed, way worse than demigod

and League of legends is pretty good for being a free game just make sure you don't buy any riot points (huge waste of money imo)

@ Mix, why go downhill and play worse games?

DG is the gameplay king of this genre and i wont bother playing hon or lol.

if another game comes that eclipses demigod or matches DG but with better netcode i will then play this genre again.

until then... i have recently rediscovered citybuilders in Tropico3 and anno1404

(Cities XL sucked bullocks and is 20x as bad as any issues you have ever had with DG)

the rest of my time is spent on racers such as Rfactor and Dirt2**(i do want to kill myself each time a menu loads in dirt2

planning to play metro soon - just finished stalker.

Last will come supcom2 but will finish other games first.

If we are talking games in general CoDMW2 likes to disconnect on the xbox 360 from time to time. I would say one out of every 5 games either desync's or the host is migrated.

I have a limited experience with games outside of the RTS world but BFME series didn't seem bad to me. Rise of Legends had a rough launch but was very smooth later besides a weird host bug that happened probably ever 1 out of 4 custom games. Age of Empires II never really desync'd but there were plenty of hackers around that made the game frustrating from time to time.

Rakion is like Demigod only all the connection problems are magnified tenfold.
