Erebus is just silly, help needed.

I play Oak, simple as that, I have since day 1 and Im not even close to being as good with any other Demigod.

And  since day 1 I have HATED erebus. I wipe the floor with every other demigod, but a decent erebus is always a challenge. A good erebus makes me want to rage quit.

Even if the (skilled) Erebus never kills me, I can never land a kill because he has both a invuln\health regen ability and a teleport ability. Not only that hes a general, so he has minions just like me.

If a game lasts a long time I can smash erebus just fine, late game oak being the monster that he is, but levels like 6-12 I just cant stand up to erebus, even with more kills (therefore better gear)

I consider myself a decent player, and Im serious that NO OTHER demigod gives me ANY trouble, people complain about UB about as much as erebus, but even a solid ooze\spit hybrid UB (my favorite build and generally considered the best) dosent phase me.

Ive faced a number of noob erebus, and while theyre tougher than other noob demigods (noob rook or reggi lol.) its always obvious when your not fighting someone experienced...

So what is up? Is Erebus the natural counter to Oak? Is Erebus OP? Is it all in my head?

I go 1 point in shield then penitence, 1 point in the rally ability, then put points in pent\souls\soulpower ect. Buying monks right away and all the best items and minions (best items being the best value ie. vlemish\boots\nimoth\the $500 good ones ect)

Pretty standard knows what hes doing oak.

Im still working on interupting bite, and sometimes I can catch it but its a really hard one to hit, Its worth it though cause I can tell it freaks the erebus players out, they usually start running or tele away right afterwards, even if the fight just started.

I would need replays to help you out.

Erebus is the lord of the dance too.  Batswarm is just that good of a skill for avoiding death, so don't be too surprised if you don't get to kill him.

I have always found Erebus to be my foil as well, with all DG's with the exception of a ooze UB. I'm with you that i don't know what it is about him, i've played Le and like the character, but when against him with a skilled player at the helm, he will give more trouble than any other DG.

Im sorry i have no answer for you, but i feel your pain. If your coming against an Erebus try an ooze UB build, it's where i have had my most success against an LE.

I play Rook / Erebus, and as a Minion Erebus, I can honestly say Oak is the bane of my existence. We may not kill each other too often, but he pushes me back every time once we're past level 10.

As long as you play oak, remember this: if you bounce erebus back in earlygame instead of dying to him, you're winning.

If I'm not mistaken, people are arguing that Oak should be the best demigod?

If Lord Erebus is the only demigod that the Oak has a problem with, shouldn't we be looking into ways of nerfing the overpowered Oak (or buffing the other non-Erebus demigods)?

Oak isn't over-powered, he has a skewed progression - in the early game Oak is pathetically weak. Seriously, until he's level 10 he's bullied around like there's no tomorrow. Once he's around level 10, the tables beging to shift pretty quickly. You really need to make the absolute most of his weakness during the early game, otherwise you don't have a hope in hell against him in the late game.

As ZehDon said. If you're familiar with DotA, Oak functions very much like the late game heroes, such as Mortred, Troll Warrior, and Ursa, while Erebus is much more like Priestess of the Moon. Essentially, Oak becomes very powerful in lategame almost automatically, whereas Erebus can only carry in lategame if he's earned himself lots and lots of gold.

Furthermore, for various reasons, Oak is sometimes considered a "counter" to Erebus, so it's not necessarily that he simply destroys everyone; rather he can defeat this one particular Demigod than most can.

I disagree with your method of playing oak.  Surge of faith at level 5 should make you capable of winning, if you are getting spirits instead of surge of faith....I'm sure there are plenty of people that will support that build, but I find it wasteful.

Also, get pent first not shield.

generally, i agree with getting surge quick, but shield #1 is better than pent #1.

the issue is that until lvls 12-14, gettting shield 2 is aa waste until u can get #3 and 4.

pent increases much faster than shield, but only by #2 or 3 is it as good as shield 1

after that its better until shield 3 or 4.

shield 4 is better than pent 4, but not by a ton. pent is a good dmg/interrupt as much as shield is at support (almost)
