Mark of Betrayer on QoT's shield

It's strange that it nullifies the shield

I had a few games with QoT spamming shield on her and on her teammates, which made my Regulus quite useless. Struggled to find a way to nullify the long shield effect. I had to resort to using Mark of Betrayer on her.  Was it just coincidence that every time I use MoB on her before she casts shield, I could break her shield (or see her shield breaks) at much shorter time (ranging from 1-5 seconds). Without using it, everytime her shield holds up for at least 3 times longer. IIRC MoB should do damange and movement speed penalty only? What gives?

Maybe you don't know how the shield work: it doesn't cover you for a set period of time but nullifies x damages. So if you start by making 500 damages to that shield when it is cast, it will obviously be broken quickly.

edit: i'm not explaining very well: in fact, it also cover you for a set period of time, but in your case the damages seems to be the limitation.

Actually, it does cover you for a set amount of time AND a set amount of damage. Just like the Rook's towers 'expire', so does the QOT's shield.

You can make it expire early by doing the damage quotient to it, as is clearly happening in the OP. So it's much more accurate to say that it's set by damage.

So yes, MoB will do heavy extra damage to the QoT's shield.

proberly because mark does  quiet a bit off dmg there fore lowering the amount it can absorbed  there fore u didn't even releaise u hit her with it

MoB does damge after any dg casts anythen scroll/skill etc.

so yes shield has a timer but it goes away by damage or time.

so if you are usen MoB it goes off does damge tro shield u drop 3 mines at her shield gone she takes damage,

stryker the  dmg taken  by it at max is 1450 and the time is a bit over 3 mins i think  because i had one on a while

its not 3 minutes it goes away alot sooner then that unless you take damage. the shield will take x amount of damage before it goes away or it goes away after x amount of time whichever comes first.

the time before it goes away is 30 seconds (was 60 in beta)

The shield lasts a lot longer htan 30 seconds, i'm pretty sure.

Generally I do not try to solo a shield QoT or Sedna as Regulus. Sedna you can harass a little easier because she's melee but you are going to take some damage against QoT. Lvl 15 mines and max MotB combo can really do a lot of spike damage and scare them away while they try to run around with like .0001 run speed. It's pretty funny. Just harass as much as possible and find an opportunity and take it if you can and get the kill. As long as you push the QoT away you have done your job.

Thanks. I didn't know about it being damage based. I first thought it is invincible because I've seen QoT stepping on 8 mines consecutively without dropping the shield.

I wasn't trying to solo. Most good QoT players stick around a teamate like UB. Even with a teamate of mine we found it very hard to counter.

man it seems longer then 30  but if u think about it u can  have  had 4 shields in that time

a good  qot  can solo  demis keeping them away and  push forward

ive been qot a few times  i usually get left by my self and i just push slowly through them  and  destroying there towers  so it is to play any character as a holder

reg  tb qot  rook  all hae powerful defense  tb can aoe clearing creeps and holding there own  reg mines wings kill creeps  and he slows  per hit so pretty good  qot aoe and shields plus minions   rooks towers  and  hammer slam aoe

there isn't a character that doesn't have a good hold build but these are the best at it

I play regulus and QOT a lot. QOT has only 1 weakness.. double team. She get's rofled by the gank. Have your friend go in at QOT and you open up with snipe just outside her sight range. QOT will instinctively shield when she sees 1 demigod coming. As soon as shield goes up your snipe hits and takes 1/2 of it away. Then your buddy opens up on QOT with a stun/slow move (everyone's got something). You run in and start shooting. Assuming you have the slow talent (which you should) your initial snipe slowed QOT and your buddy slowed him some more allowing you to catch up from outside QOT's sight range. Now it's 2 on 1 and she's not no shield for at least 3 more seconds.. she's toast.

erm  snipe does arround 330 at close range like that and if ur out of her sight range then shes out of urs  and plus on most maps u  can get a double team situation like that

is she going to just sit there  not doing anything  then start running  she'll proberly have a army of creeps  and munch a shambler  and then  she will tank till shield is ready shield her self then  hol  back to full and kickone of ur asses then retreat  back into the safety of towers  re shield  munchs a shamble and charges into  the other dude

see u can't say this is how it is going to happen because that would be highly unlikely  2v1  in a what 3v3  on cata and prison is highly unlikely and the way u said it the other dude is going to appear out of no were

that would mean a ere which would get owned  by the creeps and which this is all happenigng ur 3rd will have died and  your towers would be under attack
