Multiplayer challenge

There isn't really a place that I know of that people can get together and find someone to go online against. This might be the place to do so. Pick your party, set your parameters for an opponent, pick a time you can be online.

I'll play you. I love this game! Isn't it the best! I'm a Republican in life so I guess I prefer it in the game but it really doesn't matter to me. In fact it might be fun to switch it up. Let's stick with game candidates since I've seen people use ridiculously modified candidates in multiplay. Reply and we'll set up a time.

That would be great. I don't have any ridiculous candidates that I would use. If you want to see my RFK character he is at Link

If you want to play the dark side and go Democrat, I could use Herbert Hoover. I will try to get on some time tomorrow or if you are on tonight I will look for you.

Ok so Daniel Ruoss just kicked my butt online. It was like playing against the computer in ridiculously masochistic level. I thought I played well, but he got over 300 EC on me. The states I won, I just barely pulled out. States that I thought I concentrated on were his. According to the computer he used 81 political capital playing Nixon, who won the endorsement of the businessmen, taxpayers, unions, environmentalists, women, gun owners, and christians while using 4 smear merchants, 3 fixers, and a webmaster. I know Nixon has a 10 in experience, but does that add up? He gradually built up about 6 or so major hqs and used the operatives in different states to gain an awareness advantage where he had none. With the money he got from the HQs he poured on the ads. It looked like he had a couple dozen TV ads in Calif, and that to me seemed the deciding factor. It allowed him to reach out and take states that he really didn't even campaign in. I thought I played an awsome game but was greatly outspent and out politicized.

In short, that was a real learning experience. I mini tried your tactics in a beginners level game against Cheney and swept the electoral college. Didn't use quite the political capital that you did, nor was I able to garner as much funding as you did. However I did manage to place quite a few ads in NC and Cali to blitz him. I'll maybe try a more challenging game tomorrow and see how it runs. Like to play you again but I may need to use my character Jesus D'Nazareth just to keep up with you.

Nixon Wins Redemption! Sweeps Robert Kennedy To Avenge 1960 Defeat By JFK!

Nixon having a 10 experiance was important in this particular game. It meant conservative endors. were only 6 points and liberal ones 8. I usually wait till after week 20 and the VP pick but when you grabbed one I thought I might be screwed so I jumped on them. I'm always concentrating on building Level 3 HQ's (they bring in $90 thou a week!) and building up points in the first half. If you don't have a guy with experience, I always make sure to pick a VP who does in order to use their experience and bring down the cost of those endorsements. I try to build at least 9 or 10 (preferably 11) Level 3 HQ's. In the late stages of the game you can combine that with some CA fundraising and have a nice war chest. (you're bring in around $1 million a week!). My favorite guy though is the director as he slashes your TV ads in half enabling you to double your impact since those ads have huge national effect. My last tip is don't forget to save some of those points for webmasters and fixers. You never know what your opponent is planning so it's good to have a fixer to get rid of a smear merchant, heckler, or director. The webmaster helps you keep those ad costs down because with each ad normally having a 30,000 upkeep cost it will wipeout your war chest pretty quick. Now I know you might say "Why give all this away?". Well, if you play me once it's very easy to pick up on my strategy. Plus I can't take credit for all of it. I had my ass handed to me some chick who showed me how important Level 3 HQ's were. Man, that was embarassing. Won only one state! I will take credit for the 'Endorsements Blitz'. I realized that if you just let the compu get away with taking the first 2 they back off (rarely have I seen it grab more). This lets you save up your points and come roaring back with the Blitz just after you've picked your VP.

This game is a lot of fun though and for anyone else reading I encourage you play online. Especially if you've run into trouble against the computer. Playing (even losing) to another person can provide great insights into strategy and help expose mistakes.

Well, I used your strategy, somewhat, against Cheney in painful mode and got the highest score I ever got, first time over 7 million. This despite losing MN. What I still can't believe is you had enough stamina to use all the political capital you did, 81, build those hq's, and run a couple dozen ads in California. Its seems like you would have used up even more political points as you spent with 4 smear merchants 18 poli points, had almost all the endorsements, plus some fixers and a webmaster. In my game I had 20 TV ads running in 3 states, various radio ads in states where I needed a direct boost. I noticed that states like the great plains and upper mountain states, along with MN do not really give an awareness boost for TV ads run.

While jogging, I came up with an idea for a 19th century campaign. Money set to 5 or less, fundraising at 5 or less and no TV or Radio ads, or multimedia interviews.
