DemiGod: Single Play

Hey, being stuck with a satellite connection at home, I'm not a bit multiplayer....as you can imagine.  I've been having great fun with the single play tournament game.  I've still yet to beat it on the...what is it....nightmare level.  With all the Multiplay woes being voiced on the board I thought I'd give a mention to single play.  It seems rock solid, least I've not had any problems, and it's pretty fun.  Is anyone else out there playing single player that would like to post their experiences??

Most people don't really much care for the AI...

Single play is pretty good and me not being big into multiplayer was satisfied.  That is until I finally hopped online and found a whole new playing experience.  Single play is still not bad for me but it's now more a playground to try new strats.

as of right now i only play single player due to my computer freaking out and crashing everytime i get 1/4 the way through a match in multiplayer. I think single player is really fun although the ai can be pretty stupid at times. But it is fun to just mess around with the item and skill builds of each dg and see what works and what doesn't. Cant wait until i figure out what the problem is with my computer so i can hit up multiplayer too. (I think my ram might be corrupted)

I'd like to see maybe another level up for the AI or increase the nightmare hardness... the nightmare was kind of tough at first, but now it's not hard to take 1 player vs. 2 nightmares.  Sometimes I'm just looking for a quick game or if i have trouble connecting I go to single player as an alternative.

Also, I'd like to see a single player with a story mode...  The games would be played out as they are now, but there would be cinema scenes in between, with boss demigod's to defeat (unplayable by people).  I think there is a lot of potential artistically to what they could dream up cinema-wise for the available demigods; plus, I think it would be really fun to fight some hard bosses that took multiple tries to defeat and that had abilities far superior to the normal demi-gods (maybe they could actually be Gods? heh)

working on the ai is for me a great priority in the development of Demigod.

even if the connection issues are resolved people will be dropping from games due to circumstances anyway, hardware, connection,os problems.. we all know these.

if the ai becomes "smarter" then people dropping from the game won't be so bad anymore.

currently when a player drops that's gg for the other team, becouse it just another easy creep to kill for the big money.

This is a great idea. i would love it if they implemented this in an update like clan wars where you can download it for free. Even if they charged $10-20 for it on impulse id buy it.

My issue with the single player is the terrible Tournament feature.  Basically attempt to be so incredible that you can beat multiple AI who are cheating to hell while you have mentally retarded team mates killing themselves on the opponents towers.

The Hard tournament was doable but the Insane Tournament is like knocking down a wall with a spoon.  No matter how good you are how are you meant to stop your suicidal team mates feeding them too much gold?

Not to mention the fact that I am confident there is some item cheating going on.  Like later game Insane AI can move at least twice speed, has health regen like Wolverine and does more damage than an Ashkandor Regulus.  What possible combination of items are they using to get ALL them bonuses?  I get the feeling they aren't selling their old items so they can stack crazy amounts of stuff together.

yeah, i think so too, was trying out a fun beast build, maxed every stat available and proceeded to take the best stat items.

but i got outrun and outhit (in speed) by a rook with massive fast swings.  fun though.

fast rooks r kool..

in nightmare difficulty they gain a ton more gold than you so they might just have some epic artifact items goin on.

that  they cheat gold, that's for sure. but even if you have the most epic artifacts equiped, they will outrun and outswing you.
