If someone leaves the game, make their demigod vanish

Because the AI is terrible

If a player leaves the game mid-fight (ragequits), their demigod should also leave the game.  Many times I have seen a game get completely ruined once the AI takes over, and starts feeding thousands of gold to the other team.

I really believe that having an AI team-mate is more of a handicap than being short-handed by one player.

At the very least, this option should be available in custom games.

The option should definitely be given, but I also think it should be on by default.

Or at the least a way to disable the AI in game if you don't want them.  Melee heroes on AI are atrociously bad, ranged heroes merely intolerably bad.

Regardless, once the AI gets involved the game is over.

If someone leaves the game, the game is screwed.

That, and I have seen AI replacements play better than some players.

Better yet, let that DG remain in game and just allow the remaining team members control him, just like in WC3FT.

If AI replacements were better than the players, game was screwed to begin with.

No player is better than AI player, definitely.

Would also be nice if a drop player gives 1/4 or so of his accumulated wealth split amongst his remaining teammates to even things out a bit.

I think a better solution is to freeze the drop demigod, split his gold to his team. And then, take the passive gold he earns from here on and give that to his team mates as well.

Or just give out no gold for killing an AI demigod in multiplayer. Or maybe give only 10% of the normal amount of gold AND experience gained.

What is the point of it, having 1 less demigod to add damage and cap flags is an enormous handicap in itself, so either way the game is practically over.

Despite the AI constantly feeding, it is still easier to win with it then with 1 less demigod. I've won games where a person dropped on my team and we still won, and I've had games where someone on the enemy team dropped and they still put up a very worthy fight. Winning 2v3 is harder, since the enemy would be able to dominate flags having more people than you, and if they stuck together often, there's nothing you can do.

It also depends on what demigod the AI is, it does seem to play the melee demigods siginificantly worse, Rook is played horrendously, though of course it's awful with ranged demigods as well.

I think the best solution is to just cut the gold and xp given by Ai to 2/3 of what it is now. And also it might require programming, but seriously can't they at least make the AI just a little smarter? So many times it just walks straight into enemy territory surrounded by towers for no reason whatsoever. AI also attacks Oak when he has his Shield or Last Stand, and AI sedna and qot don't shield or heal allies at all, even when they're low on health and nearby.

We should have the following game options available to us:

Remove on Quit (default)

When someone quits the game, their demigod is removed from the game.  All their money and the value of their equipment is distributed evenly among their remaining teammates, as is their accrued experience points.  The dropped ally's income is also distributed to remaining allies in a fair manner.

AI-takeover on Quit

This is what we have now.  It should be an option, but not the default one.  If the AI ever gets improved, it might actually be worthwhile.

Shared Control on Quit

The allied character can be controlled by the remaining players in the game.  A better interface would be required to help us visually see what we have selected.  It's hard enough with minions as it is, and it could be very annoying with multiple demigods.  A quick-select option to rotate through control groups may need to be implemented in this case.

THAT would be broken, you'd shoot up like 5 levels if it was mid game....

Kind of drastic maybe, but I think it should not only remove AI, but also drop opponents until teams are evened.

Otherwise, you may as well quit as soon as your teammate does, at least in 2v2. The other team has to suck ultra hard for any 2v1 to even be remotely feasable.

At least if it evened like that, the game would be salvageable.

I'd like to see it as an option in that when someone left all players got to choose to either even the teams, continue with no stats counted, or end the game with no stats but favor counted.

Wow, some of you guys make this out to be WAY more complex than it is.

1. AI is useless.

2. Give shared control to leavers.

3. That's it.

Shared control doesn't make it worth staying, even if you can plunder their items. Most people leave when they die 1-2 times and they don't have crap anyway.

2v1 is not going to work unless the 2 are, at best, mildly retarded.

It would be kind of cool if there was a different game type option to join 'Saviour' or something where you got randomly dumped into leavers' spots where you received some kind of bonus for doing so.

Unlike dota/WC3, Demigod just doesn't have the User Interface to support shared control AT ALL.

So next best thing: leaver goes away entirely. 1/4 full equipment value currently on the DG + 1/4 accumulated gold goes to the rest of the team.

Perhaps, but you ever tried winning a 1v2 against good people?  They'll flag lock EVERYTHING, and even if you are strong enough to fight them they'll just run away and cover each other with stuns.

I don't think it will ever be possible to win 1v2 against good people, but you should be able to pull it over vs 2 average people if you are good.

Not with the AI though - it's never possible.
