Patch breaks Pantheon completely, in a new way

I'm finding the post-patch experience MUCH worse; what I'm seeing however is clearly different from before so the details might give a clue to someone.

Before the patch I had problems at first, then forwarded ports 6073 and 6100 - 6200 and after that things went well, apart from too many bots in the Pantheon. I've played games whenever I wanted to, very successfully. Lots of fun.

Now I can't play Pantheon at all. Once a game starts to be matched, I was delighted that in each of the four games I tried every place was filled with humans; also instead of some doing nothing much they (almost) all seemed to actively try to connect.

Strangely although several connected to me, I could connect to - at best - one other player. After a minute or two the number of players fell away I suppose as people quitted. Several other players had limited connections connections to each other as well. In three of the four games I was kicked after a short time. I've never been kicked before.

So, despite seeing more humans than ever before, the game has gone from okay to, literally, unplayable. I can't join a game.

I wonder if the ports that I need to open have changed? I've certainly changed nothing at this end.

Suggestions welcome. I'm in England, using NAT behind a Draytek router with ports open, and tested, as above. No antivirus / firewall on the computer.

I have the same problem, geting the message:

"You have been disconnected because you were kickedfrom the game you were attemting to join."

Get this 5 out of 6 pantheon games i try to join.

I can join them just fine, with the exception of getting kicked like you guys. My beef with it is how it can match up 3 regulus's on the same team, or 3 of any DG.

Just after the patch I could play this game on line. This patch makes my money worth, just in time to come here screaming "I WANT MY MONEY BACK" and things like this...

Same thing as OP. Last night I tried to join about 5-6 games and I would get in lobby, see other players, then get boot with same message posted above.

Ditto, after patch 1 this game went great for me, got into maybe 8/10 - 9/10 panth games...

Now the last 4 Ive tried to join I get remvoed due to being kicked.... Glad to see patches are going live without any testing... Just another game with a lot of problems... Its sad games get pushed out the door before fully ready... I dont know many products that are allowed to be pushed out before being fully ready... therefore forcing the consumer to wait until the product is ready, yet have paid money...

According to Stardock, this is a side effect of an update that improved connectivity overall. They could not have predicted it, and no amount of internal testing would have revealed it. The problem will be fixed with the timing tweaks in an upcoming patch.

I dont know many products that are allowed to be pushed out before being fully ready... therefore forcing the consumer to wait until the product is ready, yet have paid money...

Majority of all games being released in the last 10 years. There is no standard and no accountability.

But I have major faith in stardock for their past quality. This is just one bad release of many great and successful releases.

Well before, most of the players were AI so the chance of a bad connection as say 25% if there was only one other person.  Now you are connecting to 5 players so the chance of a bad connection is close to 80%.  I also cannot get a Partheon game running, but I couldn't do that before the patch anyway.  Custom games and skirmish games work fine.  Partheon, have only played 1 game in about 5 hours of trying.

Same here. I connect to everyone but maybe 1 player and then I get the "you have been kicked" message. I've tried for about two hours today to get into a pantheon game, and I can not.

that's cause Regulus is rapidly becoming the top choice for Light side.

Nah, I've only played 5-6 pantheon games probably.

I see no difference after the patch really. Except that now I don't even see the kick player option which is odd considering the other posts in this thread.

well this blows of corse i have the same ****ing issue and of coarse stardock is just ruining more fun. I believe that the connection issue was starting to sort itself out on its own there are more pressing matters to worry about like the fucked up favor points and the stat tracking I personally dont care who connects to who I could still play reguardless of who was there. Now that more people can play more people wont because of the favor issues if you catch my drift. This **it needs to get fixed asap and it needs to happen this week.

Yup, this his happening for me as well.

I hit "fight" after a short pause the connection window comes up.  I watch us all attempt to connect to each other.  I successfully connect to multiple people. 

Once we're all connected the screen turns brighter (always does right when a game is about to start) and then BAM, error message comes up saying I've been kicked :-(

So far 3-3 NO SUCCESS in getting into a game, prior to this patch I could get into games and even had a 5v5 and a 4v4.

Update

4th try, I got into a Pantheon game 2v2 + 2AI.

My teammate dropped after feeding them 2-3 times :-(  But managed to pull out the win 2v1 :-)

Before the last patch I didn't have any connection problems, now I'm getting kicked from every matchup even tho I'm making connections with other players. Since yesterday evening I've been able to play just 1 pantheon game.

Yeah still the same thing going on as Jaradakar says above. last night I tried to join about 5-6 games again...I would get in. See other people. Would even connect to a couple of them. Then eventually get the "Youve been kicked..." message.

Prior to the last patch I was able to join games without much problem. So this has made it worse for me at least.
