my humble opinion about single player campaign

or lack thereof

It my hopes that Stardock/GPG stick to their guns and keep DemiGod multiplayer focused.

However.

I believe it is fair to appease consumers who are taking an interest in the world/story that has been created.  It creates a reason (if you will) to become more deeply imbedded in the product, and to derive more joy while playing (for some).

My suggestion is that Cutscenes/movies/whatever are created, and reward after accomplishing certain goals (simple example being 20 completed matches with a given god).  This will give those who desire a single campaign what they're looking for, while providing another 'carrot' to help drive the multi-player matches.

Thanks for the effort.

I'm quite happy thus far with the game... however I do agree that it would have been 'nice' to include some stronger story elements to the single player tournament...

For me the idea of a 'pantheon' of demigods reminds me of greek mythology and all the drama that transpires between creatures of power... of course it wouldn't really have to go that far, nor is it necessary at all..

just would have been a nice touch

Meh, please tell me of one rts in the past 5 years that had a story worth playing? RTS AI is always flawed because I don't think our currently level of technology can ever provide a smart enough opponent. The last RTS I played through single player was SupCom and this was only cuz I was reeeeally bored. Look at WC3 - I've played it for years, and never in a long time have I either played the single player campaign OR the default game maps.

Multiplayer makes an RTS, single player really isn't worth the extra time and money for development. Personally i'm really glad I can play Demigod right now as a multiplayer game only then have had to wait 6 months longer while they put in a campaign that most people will never play or lose interest in straight away.

+1 to GPG for making this decision.
