The storyline, lets geek out over the plot of Demigod! Questions....

Discuss everything we do not know!

THIS IS YOUR SPOILER WARNING-This thread is spoilerific

I love the story.  The details are scarce, but I think it is a neat story, it leaves me wanting more, I have many questions, I wish we could construct more of the story.  Include facts here which you think would be helpful in figuring out the story.

I want to know if the "ancient ones" are truly gods, the game seems to say yes, the manual says no.  I want to know where the "deep places" are.  Is the veil the seperation between the mortal and "god" world, the deep places?

What is the nature of the unclean beast, if all the demigods are children of the progenitor, how does that work out, since he came from a spell in a book?

What exactly are the migrations talked about in the intro?

What can we figure out about the progenitor from hints in the game, what did he tell mortals?

This is the true back story as it was told to me long ago.

The story as written is true to a point, but it leaves out a very key point.  Haven't you ever left a "present" in a hot magazine when you were a teen.  The ancient book was written in an old and foriegn script but the words were ones we all know, hidden words: dirty, hot words.  By reading those words, the merchant awoke the progenitor's god sperm from their long slumber and they sought out the closest woman, as all god sperm do (especially sperm belonging to a god named the progenitor).  They raced with haste to the fertile loins of the merchants wife as she lay resting in bed in the other room.  However years of slumber in this book had left them mangled, distorted and unrecognizable.  Radiation and free radicals had taken their toll on the DNA inside.  As the sperm joined with the ovum a terror reached into her dreams and she awoke with a fright.  It is said that within the first week she could feel the beast kicking within her stomach.  Though this was not the beast kick, rather it was it's rapid division and growth within her, bones developing at a furious rate.  Unfortunately, this was all discovered too late.

Wait, hold on. Saam-el's black book was actually an ancient porno magazine? Ewwww... :puke:

Still, the concept that the All-Father left a portion of himself in the book in the far-flung reaches of the past does make sense. I initially thought the book was some sort of direct conduit, through which the All-Father was communicating with Saam-el, and that lead me to believe that the Progenitor was an innately Bad Guy ™ (and that... perhaps... the demonic face we see in the Prison map is, in fact, the left-overs of the Progenitor 8O ). But that didn't quite gel with the merciful representation of the All-Father in the Rook's backstory.

See it is starting to make sense.  Now if only we can bring together more bards and sages from old to tell the stories of our ancestors.  Only then may we answer these questions and many more.
