Could a mod lock this thread? The majority of America (and most countries) obviously don't like him. There isn't much to discuss when they refuse to learn anything about him.

Personnely I'm neutral to him. He could have handled some cases better, but so could most of our other presidents. Katrina's death count wasn't caused by him, it was caused by the damn rules emergency services have.

George Bush is a war criminal. He lied to the American People about Iraq. He's circumvented the Bill of Rights by allowing and encouraging illegal wiretaps on American Citizens. He's promoted the use of torture and denied legal rights to many prisoners (who have never been charged of any crime). He should be impeached, tried, and sentenced to death for the murder of thousands of Iraqi civilians.

In short, he's the very embodiment of everything this country was never meant to stand for. His treatment of the Hurricane Katrina disaster victims was disgraceful, and his subservience to global corporations and their profits have brought our country into a recession. He's given only lip service to the problems caused by Global Climate Change and in many cases suppressed reports and evidence by NASA scientists and his own environmental regulators who have tried to bring forth concerns and problems that his corporate cohorts want suppressed.

He's a national disgrace, just like his father.

Seconded.

This topic has no hope of going anywhere other than causing grief which is obviously the intent of the OP who should at least receive a warning for intentionally trying to stir up trouble.

Let's nip this one in the bud before people unnecessarily get themselves into trouble for no possible benefit.

[edit] Just noticed that you can't report an OP. This is clearly an oversight as it's certainly possible (as in this case) that the entire premise of the thread is intended to cause grief. [/edit]

What's wrong with such a discussion? The American people deserve to understand how much they've lost. Our country is in the worst shape it's been in since the last world war. We deserve a country whose name isn't synonymous with torture. We deserve a country where Truth and Justice mean something. We deserve a country where The American Way doesn't mean blind obeisance to corporate capitalism and Democracy is a matter of The Vote, not The Almighty Dollar.

Instead, we have a country, and a forum, where, when uncomfortable ideals are put forth, and the views of some members aren't in lock-step with their own personal beliefs, they want NO discussion, NO democracy, and a locked thread.

It's got nothing to do with opinions and everything to do with that the topic is too 'hot' to be discussed without turning into a flame war.

(hopefully the lock will kick in now...)
