Friends of Galciv will be deleted.

Sorry to say but Friends if Galciv will be deleted. I planning on deleting it on March,25th, 2008. The reason being is that i it would have more member by this month, it's been a month scince and i still have only one member. So i realized that if no one visits or joins that it's poinless. But if anyone would like to join then do it before March 25th because if i get more than five members, mabye i might not delete it. Sorry, i guess that trying to make the ultimate Galciv fansite is hopless. :NOTSURE:

Nothing is ever hopeless but from experience a fansite is hard to get going. I was lucky with the Galactic Core as it came from a time when the Metaverse meant something and the boards were alive with empires battling each other for supremacy. Those days are now long gone and the Metaverse battle is a shell of what it used to be. The top empire now (the Diplomats) is made up mainly from retired members of the original golden days of the MV from GC1 who met through the neutral grounds offered to each empire in the Core (who hosted private forums for many of the empires). Those players banded together when GCII was released and formed one empire here. However all but a few of them have now moved on to other games and with the MV either constantly broken or unable to be played with the beta of TA, i doubt many will return again.

So in memory of your short lived forum and all those who have gone before you we thank the players of the game who made it such a fun place to be all that time ago.

Thank you for making the site. I am sorry for you that it did not gain traction. I think the problem is that there are already a couple of large sites (the core, tyranny's forums) that have reached "critical mass", so to speak. The volume of posts there is enough to make people who have an interest in the game sign up for the forums so they can join current discussions. It's tough to get new people I'd imagine.

I too hope that one day some of the great players who have left, will return. Maybe Twilight will help?
