Sigh,,, why does everything have to be so obscure with Stardock?

Anyway i tried to work out how to download DA,,, i even got the email with all my game codes, that part worked well. DA was listed, and a link to download it is included but unfortunately it keeps trying to download sdcentral.exe which i already have??

Don't know if it helps, but in SDC you should have Dark Avatar listed when you expand the tree for GalCiv2. If your serial is registered with Stardock, the button on the side should read 'install'.

That's all, really. Confused me as hell the first time, too. I kept trying to enter a serial somewhere, when it was already registered. Then I just hit 'start game' - and behold, it let me play.

SDC is what you use to download DA, there isn't a direct link to DA itself. Simply fire up SDC, register the DA serial to the same account you have GC2 on, and find DA under GC2 with the other modules.

Thanks for the advice but things did not go well for me.

I decided to follow the download link for sdcentral just to see what would happen.... now after reinstalling sdcentral it is not accepting any of my codes, not even for DL?

All my game codes are seposedly invalid. That's pretty dumb since i even used the resend serial option in sdcentral, it then proceeded to reject all those new codes as well.

What exactly is it saying? You shouldn't need to reregister DL.

I forget the exact words but when i try to register in sdcentral, it gives me a message saying that the serial code i used is invalid.

Also when i first run sdcentral it tells me that the galciv games i already have installed do not have valid serial codes. But that only happened after reinstalling sdcentral, befor that, my games had valid serial codes according to sdcentral.

Probably ought to drop a mail to support@stardock.com then, in that case.

will do,

actually i nearly did last night, but stupid hotmail dissapeared my message when i tried to attach copies of my serial code confirmation emails. "page has expired" lovely, and i'm already pissed at hotmail for cancelling outlook express email link unless you pay them money!

If you have an ISP address or some other, you may want to try that if you don't get any response from support--AFAIK we've had issues with hotmail counting our messages as spam in the past.

Thanks for the heads up,, yes i have noticed this. Perhaps it is because Stardock hasn't paid Hotmail any 'protection' money??
