Game crashes on start

I start the beta. The main screen comes up, it sounds like its playing the music all wrong, and then the computer locks up and crashes.

I had the same problem - I fixed at least the graphical part by changing my settings - right click on the desktop, select properties, then the settings tab, then click the advanced button, then the troubleshoot tab, then lower your hardware acceleration using the slider. I had to change it a couple of times to find the right level.

BTW to the developers, it looked like environmentalist was spelled wrong in the special interest section (needs an extra n).

Well dropping the accel one notch fixes the crashing, but now the mouse cursors have a black rectangle around them.

The "music" is still horribly, horribly wrong. It sounds like a bunch of random blips. So I just quit.

Thanks for the help, but this one isn't up to working on my machine just yet. Radeon 9600 Pro, Catalyst 3.9, using a Turtle Beach Santa Crus for audio.

We've been getting a few people that have similar sound problems. Now that we have a few system specs, hopefully we'll be able to get to the root of the problem.
