Changing tech rate mid-game (cari, frogboy??)

I guess this one is mainly for the Devs, or those familiar with the savegame format. I'm currently in a game i want to extend and drag out longer, but i only selected slow tech rate when i started the game. I'd like to drag it out more by changed it to very slow, so my question is: Is there any way to do that in the savegame files? Is there a specific point in the file i can edit (Hex edit) to change the tech rate multiplier?

Probably, but that information is not likely to be released if so.

any particular reason?

Security--releasing details of the save format only increases the potential for finding new means of cheating or creating trainers. Obviously that's not something we'd like to encourage as a general rule. You can always get on IRC and ask Cari or Brad directly though if you want to try your luck (but as I've said it's not at all likely for these reasons).

well what are my other options? I wanna slow the game down, but it's not worth changing the tech cost of every remaining tech in the xml file.

I suppose i could cut the amount of tech points research improvements generate?

Any other way i could acheive the effect?

Most of the game's data is stored in saves as well, so that probably won't work either.

Right, exactly, i meant i'd have to change them in the savegame file; which i DO know how to do.

Anyways, that's what i ended up doing, changing the research output of the research improvements... Kindof a roundabout way of doing things... Wish i could have identified that research multiplier, but oh well, this gives me near the same results.
