Why no bio-techs?

Like the title, why no bio-tech?

In Galciv1, they had techs dealing with biological stuff. Things like genetic engineering and evolution control. In Galciv2 they completelyabandoned this type of research (except for farming and terraforming techs). So what would it be like to have them back. I would also want to know if the Galciv1 vets liked the bio-techs and if they think it was for better or for worse.

Perhaps it wasn't politically correct enough, as far as it touched on evolution.

Ok, that link broke the link code, here it is for copy and pasting. (In Firefox when I have to copy and paste a link I just select it and hit "Ctrl-C,T,V" to open it in a new tab very quickly.)

Cmon' it's SCI-FI nearly all of them have evolution. Even though I don't think it's true, it's still cool to think about.
