A Diplomatic Gesture

Space Empires 4 and Space Empires 5

I made a post praising Space empires 4 and Space Empires 5 and listing features but it was removed. Should I try again? Is Stardock fearful of competition? Yet in a previous post of mine [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=115003&cmd=myposts#883378"]https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=115003&cmd=myposts#883378">Link Frogboy states that he doesn't have a problem with me mentioning other games...Maybe he just doesn't want me celebrating them.

Should I post my Space Empires praise again?

Can't fans of many stategy games praise these games without upsetting the host?

Not when you post it in the "galciv2" section wade

My other post with the link was. I post everything in "Everything" \ "Create Post".

Doesn't "Everything" mean... well...Everything?

Best to put it in off topic.

1) Please put discussions about other games in their appropriate place, the OTF.

2) I don't know if there's a problem with the new interface or what (haven't made a new thread lately myself), but your thread was pretty much unreadable due to a total lack of line breaks.

3) Due to aforementioned flaky new post interface I couldn't move the thread, or change it. Leaving only 'delete' (ok, well I could simply hide it too but I didn't think about that until it was too late, sorry).

And you are?... ...No really you sound like you're from Stardock but your name area is not in red. No offense intended. I think I've seen your name before.

1) If I do this won't it still show in Recent Posts and "Everything"?

2) I had the breaks in my post. I wouldn't otherwise. I too noticed the "crammed all together " effect.

3) That's alright. I too am sorry if it seemed that I jumped to conclusions. I didn't really think that Frogboy would have maliciously delete the post.

So I might post it again but in Off Topic.

It was probably removed because it was one long run-on paragraph with messed up links in it, which eventually blended into a cut-and-paste from somewhere else. Looked more like an accident or computer glitch than a message from someone.

Space Empires IV is a great game, enjoyed a lot of the mods for it. Looking forward to the next installment, currently listed as winter, 2006.

Didn't like Space Empires IV. At all. A bit TOO much indie for my taste. Ten times more options than GalCiv2, 99% of them are useless, since the AI is nearly non-existent and either too aggressive or completely passive. The diplomacy is non-existent. All there is to the game is basically combat and lack of combat, with many useless features. You add tons of parts to your ships, and then you see a bunch of ugly triangles move around a square. Yay. Billions of research areas, all of them are exciting as a math test. There isn't even a sense of accomplishment when you do research stuff.

And to top it all, the game is like you're in a micromanagement hell, that is set in another micromanagement hell for all eternity. Everything takes millions of clicks and fiddling to complete, the interface is less intuitive than a degree in accounting, and it's really an overrated "underrated underdog".

I really tried to like it, since 4X space strategy games is my favorite genre, but this is one of the most boring and bland games I ever got to play. I showed the game to a friend of mine, who got somehow hooked to this game, but when he tried to show me what is so good about it afterall, he got bored in the process!

I might as well play the game of my dreams with paper and pencil. GalCiv 2 is so much better than this spreadsheet (or should I say spread$hit?) that it's not even funny.

that lack of breaks is happening all over now. My and several other posts are like that, but only new threads, not replies. Did someone break something?

Official Forum Moderator and modder of some small renown . I just don't add it in tiny text after each post like DG does
