What to add in Planetary invasion battles.

I would like for each tech I have or invasion technique I use to have a visable effect on the battlefeild, and I would like to see an innitial troops landing on the planet at the beginning phase to the animation. Better graphics are my main objection.

Mechanics wise, I have no problems really... general concepts are fine. I kinda wish the special invasion techniques were things you built on your ships instead of things you buy at the invasion site.
