Old McDonald Had a Farm...

So I have won 3 games in a row on every difficulty up to and Including Normal...Yes i know im a newb but stay with me. I am having a devil of a time with this Farm and planet thing.

1) When you first coloniz a planet, any size, you get 4/wk so how many ppl should that planet be able to substain if I didn't build any more farms?

2) Does the type of planet determin how many ppl it can support or the number of farms? I have build 2 farms on a planet and can't get more then 7 billion PPL.

3) How many ppl should a planet with no farms be able to produce, how many ppl should each farm beable to support?

Thanks

1) 1 billion people = 1 mt/wk food. Most planets start out with a max 5 billion population and 5 mt/wk, so + 1 farm = 9 mt/wk = 9 billion people.

2) I think under class 9 there is a hard cap, irrespective of food produced. I'm not sure, but with class 6 and under farms are definitely not worth it.

3) No farms = 5 mt/wk. So unless the planet's class 6 or less, that would be 5 billion people. Farms scale up depending on your technology. They support 1 billion people for every mt/wk they produce.
