Will Influence Area Visibility Be Fixed?

Will Influence Area Visibility Be Fixed?

At turn one, your group can see jack. You might have star/planet locations, but you can't even see the border of your own influence. However, you can immediately see the location of the alien homeworlds and their spheres of influence. Is this intentional? Even for the humans? It might be a part of the backstory, but I'd like the ability to turn it off for my non-campaign games: it has a massive impact on the early game, and I want that 'what's out there' feeling you can't get when you know *exactly* whats out there. Thoughts?

MM, it starts a game with this button set at the way it was when you last played. If you just finished a long game and had it on in the end game (like I usually do), then the next game you start will have it on.

Really? I honestly didn't know that. I played around with the map buttons once, then forgot about them.

It doesn't solve the real problem, though: that it'd be nice if the minimap just displayed the information you have, ie only the parts of the influence area you have seen. 1.1 includes an option, but it remains to be seen how it's implemented. Honestly, I think it's great the devs care about minor issues like this at all!
