How many races are recommended on each map size?

I think it would be really great if GCII can tell you what's the maximum number of players that's recommended to play on each map size. Currently I play on medium maps and set only 5 other races to play against me. Is this too much?

What if I am playing on a small map, is it ok to have 5 races on it too?

Depends on how much room you like to have. I like 9 opponents, but even on Gigantic, that can feel cramped if the distribution is uneven. Even on Huge, I drop the number of opponents to 5. Other people welcome early contact and conflict, so they're probaby happy playing with more opponents than I, however.

I play with all 9 on gigantic, but even there someone always gets stuck in a corner with nowhere to go... sometime it's me
