"I visited Game Rankings today to see what was new and to my shock, Galactic Civilizations was #3 in the most popular games.

But..But..PC games are supposed to be dying right? Isn't that why it's hard to get shelf space? People don't play PC games? Certain promises were made.

And turn based strategy? Nobody plays turn based strategy. What's up with that? What are you people doing? Didn't you get the memo? Quit playing the game and get back to whatever it is you're supposed to be doing.

With the success of Civ IV and other games coming out this year, maybe publishers will really start to notice that A) The PC game market isn't so dead after all and B) There's a pretty good market for turn based strategy.

Incidentally, the other PC game on the list is also a strategy game."

Congratulations for the high ranks!

I find that developing teams that work hard to create a COMPLETE game and are devoted to to it, you make an impact. Stardock, you are simular to Area.net, creating guild wars as thier very first game, they had huge success, they give updates that the fans suggest sometimes, and people seem to love the game. This seems to be what you guys are going to accomplish, and your now going to be running with the bigboys! Just be careful on not overhyping games like lionhead studios, look up thier wilkopedia and it has bad stuff on them now. They overhype and come down with a bugfull game that seems to be impossible to fix. But i will continue buyiong games from stardock, you've earned my respect!

Except GC2 is a deep, involving experience and Guildwars, although an interesting concept and incredibly pretty, lacks depth and is just another hack n slash grinder if you try to follow the story. The PVP is fun, and has a lot of strategy, true, but it doesn't compare to World of Warcraft - and that hurts to admit, as I hate WoW!

GC2 > all.

(except Moo2, but only due to nostalgia)

What i am really trying to get at is not a comparision of games, but of the developer to thier fans, Stardock, like Area.net, seems to really care about what thier fanbase is thinking.
