Ships and planets animation crazy fast

Having an issue where the animations for ships and planets run and spin so fast you can barely tell what they are.

Yep me too. real annoying. Perhaps the game hates 64bit machines and SLI cards. My specs are essentially the same as yours.

See these 2 threads, I thought it was solved but apperently not

There's a little solution in the second link you can try for the time being (make a backup off course)

Thanks for the info Seer. Looks like the game isn't AMD dual core friendly as noted by the beta testers months prior to the release. To bad they couldn't squash that bug. Hate having to mess with the affinity switch every time I play the game.

I wonder if they tried to implement the SetThreadAffinityMask() function in one of there builds.

I've had a number of games that don't like my dual core. I used to use imagecfg to permanently set affinity to 1 core for problem games.

But it makes a change to the exe and that recently caused a problem with one games copy protection.

This link has a number of possible solutions. I went with the hot fix and haven't had any problems since. But it is an unsupported hot fix, so use at your own risk.

I'm having the same problem. I'll try those fixes when I get home from work.
