Dell C640 w/ATi Mobility 7500 - It works.

For those of you with older laptops, I justed wanted to let you know that GC2 seems to work perfectly on my company-issued (shhhh ) development laptop:

Dell C640
2.0 GHz, 1GB, ATi Mobility 7500, Windows XP SP2

There are a few very minor graphical anomalies, such the stars/suns sparkling as you get farther away from them, but other than that, it runs pretty well. I haven't had much of a chance to play as I'm...er...supposed to be working (away on business.) By the way, thank you Stardock for making an updater that uses HTTP (and i.e. works through corporate firewalls.)

I can't wait to pickup my new company laptop (D810/1GB/X300/15.4" woohoo!) so I can bump up the graphics. Still, I'm amazed the game runs on my current laptop. I know what I'll be doing in the hotel tonight!

I'm on a T30 Thinkpad, which has the same video card, and it's not so much sparkling as the pixels inside the star not being filled in. If I have several planets and stars on screen at once, many of the stars are transparent except for a cirular outline. I'm not sure whether this is because of the reduced on-board VRAM (16meg) or the card not having a pixel shader.
