The Army hated me it started good was sent to Asian Turkey, put on an C130 and thrown out over European Turkey got to see the walls of Constantinople as we drove past on the way to downtown Istanbul.
Later got to Reforge to Germany.
Then the army got nasty and decided I would love to play in the snows of Alaska 18 months living there and three more trips during the Winter.
They did throw in another Reforged to Germany one of the reasons I am looking forward to Reforging Elemental
Hi gypsy2299.
My Career In The Military Was very different . I was and Army Cadet at 13 years old, I joined The Junior Leaders at 17, so i mostly had an advantage against other New Recruits when i joined The Regiment. I Moved up the ranks quickly and after almost a decade i was promoted to Staff Sgt, then a few years later made WO2 Or Company Sgt Major. It was brilliant to have Officers who Beasted me earlier in my career, Now having to do as I Said On The Parade Square. Learned Artic Warfare and learned to Ski In Norway. Done my Parachute Training At Brize Norton(This Is Were I Met And Worked With Some Of Your Guys As BN Is One Of The Best Para Schools In The World), with many secondments to many places listed above. Tried To Pass Selection on The Brecon Beacons Winter coarse but was Injured.
I left The Army Still A Young Man, so had to decide what next, All i knew was soldiering so singed up As A PMC and Completed 3 Combat Tours Of Africa, and 2 Combat Tours Of Yugoslavia. Africa changed me Forever, It was an extremely Brutal Place were things go on daily, that we do not read in the papers. Decided i needed a change so signed up As Security For The European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana which was Fantastic, Joined Civi Street after that, struggled being out of uniform for a while, then re trained in Computers, the rest is history.
I Gave The Military The Best Years Of My Life And It Gave Me A Lot Back, Travel, Order, Discipline Etc.. Some of it was the best years of my younger life. I Made Some Friendships For Life, Lost Some Very Special People Too. This is why i have the utmost Respect For Any Man Or Woman, Who Stands On A Line With A Weapon, And Tells The Bad Guys, You Shall Not Pass, Not On My Watch, Whilst The Civilian World Sleeps Peacefully.
Even Though The Army, As You Put It " Hated You" You Have The Respect Of Other Warriors Like Me And The Guys You Worked With. The Movies Like To Give The Image Queen And Country, Or God And Country, But You Know That Is BS, When The Rounds Were Flying Passed Us, And The RPGs Or IEDs Were Fragging Our Brains And Bodies, The Man To Our Left And Right Is The Reason We Fought.
Respect Brother.
