When you are making your civ at the start of a game, it will let you change the starting ideology, which is nice. However, the starting ideology doesn't really seem to DO anything.
It is very easy to get a bunch of ideology awareness quests and additions for all of the various ideology branches throughout the game; yet the starting ideology you select doesn't seem to have any effects on all of these potential sources and choices for earning ideology awareness points. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I have played very few games where my starting ideology was the one that had the highest awareness level, just due to the choices and selections that were made available to me during the game. Except for when I select "Creativity" as the starting ideology, because you get a point of awareness for that every time you build a durantium processor on a planet.
Maybe you should make it so that the starting Ideology you select at set up automatically gives you like 3 levels of awareness or something like that. Or you earn double the the number of awareness points for your selected starting ideology when you do quests and stuff.
It just seems like a kinda empty pointless thing to select at the moment. The only effect it really seems to have is in diplomacy with other races (- we have different ideology); and even that seems like a kinda hollow gimmicky thing since the player may very well not even have as many points in their "official" starting ideology as they do in other ideology trees.
