I tried playing my first alien race, and got confused by the interface. (This is in version 77B)

After I chose a race, I expected a button that said "play", but didn't find one. So I clicked "back", hoping my choice of race would be saved. Since New Game got me back to that page, I tried Quick Start, which gave me the Terrans.

Next try: I figure I have to go all the way through the customization pages. So I pick a race, and hit customize. I march through the option pages, not change anything, until I get to a choice between customizing victory conditions and choosing opponents. I pick victory conditions. That takes me to a page where the only button is "back".

Now I'm really confused. I had previously discovered that back didn't work, and didn't keep the options I had set. But here, back is my only way off the page. It took me a while to figure out that on this page, your choices are saved when you mash back, and that you then have to pursue the choosing opponents path.
