[Mod] DD's Civs

From the readme:

"Adds two new human civilizations to the game: Star Federation and War Clan. These are added via the XML append method for customization and compatibility. Both use a modified Terran ship style with custom designs and upgrading blueprints. Each has a new leader portrait, home system, and ship color scheme."

Suggestions and feedback are welcome. Don't hesitate to mention if something doesn't seem to be working correctly - I've tested each element during creation, but this is a relatively complex mod, and there could be issues.

Please endorse the file if you enjoy the mod - this required a not-insignificant amount of work to create, and it would make me smile to know the effort is appreciated.

You are welcome and encouraged to use this mod as a template for creating your own XML-append civs. Please change the "DD_Civ" prefix for filenames, internal names, and variables to your own unique prefix so that our mods are compatible.

Looks interesting! Thanks for sharing it. I've downloaded it and verified that the two new races show up in game, but I'll have to finish my current game before trying them out.

Thanks - the confirmation is appreciated. It's good to know that it works on someone else's install and that I didn't flub up and overlook packing something into the zip. Soothes that nagging doubt that accompanies releasing a mod into the wild.

An interesting surprise: I started a game playing as Star Federation and was plunked down right next to War Clan... so I get to observe how the AI plays one faction from the start as I play the other, which is great!

So far I'm liking how they're behaving - slightly cool to start due to the ideological difference but receptive to diplomatic overtures. Up to cordial now after initiating trade. None of the "eat your face" Drengin-style malevolence. Might customize their dialogue later, but for now it's not awful.
