Games on GOG

I don't want to deal with Steam and I am happy to see that Galactic Civilizations 1 and 2 are available on GOG.


But there are some details I need to know before deciding on a purchase.


(1) Do I have to deal with Steam if I buy the games from GOG? If I have to deal with Steam then I won't consider buying any of them.

(2) There was a 2.20 update available for GalCiv 2. If I buy the game from GOG now, will I have access to the update (and any future updates) or will the update be incorporated into the game?

(3) GOG said "No activation or online connection required to play." on both titles. So does this mean that I can play the game offline in single player mode after buying and installing the game and not worry about internet activation?

1. No, you don't. Games sold by GOG don't require Steam.

2. v2.20 is already included in the GOG-version of GalCiv 2. 

3. Yes. The only time you need an internet connection for a singleplayer game is when you download the installer and/or an update. Installing and playing the game work perfectly offline.
