1.5 Diplomacy / Trade Agreement Screen issue

trade item categories disappearing as game progresses

Background: Insane Map size / "Normal" difficulty / 6 Major Races + my Custom (Terran) race / occasional minors.

By turn 614, already 3 of 5 minor races no longer show their Colonies on the Trade Screen. [Trade items are: Credits, Treaties, Offers, Strategic Resources, Trade Resources, Techs, Ships, Starbases, Colonies.] These minors do have colonies/planets on the map, at least one or two, but nothing shows on the screen past the Ships list.

By turn 634, my Custom race has defeated the Drengin, who gave their balance of planets, ships, etc. to the Yor. On the Trade screen, the Yor now only show the Credits item, and nothing below that. [I have noted that when scrolling these lists, the Credits section remains while everything scrolls up and out of sight.] As well, my race now only shows Credits when on the screen with each of the minors. Yet with the Yor and other Major races, everything shows as normal. Also, only 2 minor races show they have colonies.

By turn 640, my Custom race can no longer trade because all I show are Credits on the Trade screen with any Major or Minor race. I have 1000+ ships, 86+ starbases, and 104 colonies on the map. The Yor also only show Credits. The remaining Majors -- Altarian, Iridium, and Iconian -- all have normal Trade lists with all items showing. New minors which have popped up show no colonies as well, but everything else is there for them. Only 2 Minors remain with listed colonies.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way to refresh the trade items, or is this game effectively over? Will this keep happening, or is this a one-game anomaly? Why play if I put in 50 hours and end up with this scenario again? Anyone care to comment?

By the way, I have 12 GB or system Ram and the video card is a GeForce CTX970 w/ 4 GB ram.

Well, there was discussion some time back about how it didn't seem right that other races would show you everything they've got on the Diplomacy screen - which, ally, nuetral or enemy, they were doing.

What's your standing with the races?

I would guess this is a bug as Stardock haven't said they've altered the diplomacy screen and that what other races will show you is dependant on what their relationship with your race is like.

1. Colonies are only listed (like techs) if there are any to trade. the AI is not permitted to trade its final colony, so most minors, having only one colony, will never show colonies available for trade.

2. AI are supposed to deny trades of certain types at certain negative diplomatic relationships. The yor might not have anything listed for trade because they hate your guts and don't want to give you anything but explosions. Looks like the case.

3. I have no idea why your own trade options would ever be limited. Probably an actual bug.

So, what is available for trade at turn 614, doesn't seem to be affected by relationship -- Furious (at war or not) or Close, all is visible. As well, at turn 634, I am close to the minors but I can't give them anything but credits, whether as a one-time gift or paid out over weekly. Then, at turn 640, Close and Cordial don't help make my items visible for trade. Must be a bug!

Any more advice?
