It would make the Advent Rebels and TEC Loyalists more powerful. Would be a huge, much needed, boon for the latter.

Titans are the main thing making factions unique, as their native techs and their unique stuff on the research tree is ridiculous, nothing much changed from the original race... TEC Loyalist wouldn't be defensive if they had a huge Ragnarov tearing apart anything on it's rampage, and we all know of the titans which are stronger and which not...

For Vasari it would be just LOL as both titans are seriously OP, Advent factions have 2 good titans (Eradica is better in killing fleets though, so maybe it would be the choice more often than not), TEC, Ankylon VS Ragnarov, everyone knows Ankylon is not in teh same league the other titans are in... So basically this change would weaken the Ragnarov and the Coronata I think, as their racial counterpart is (for TEC, much) better.

It is good as it is now I think, it would seriously mess up faction uniqueness, as only Titans are what define each faction the best.

AR more powerful if they had a Coronata? Sounds interesting, waiting for the reason.

The original idea for Rebellion was:

Choose TEC

Play the game

resarch TEC Loyalists or TEC Rebel when the time is right. Only then faction specific techs are unlocked.

Internal beta testing however showed one major flaw in that initial design idea.

People were dragging out the choice for very long.... making it basically an improved Dilplomacy. Only once the game was already decided they began to choose subfactions.

No, this way is better, forcing you to live with all weaknesses of your current faction from the beginning to the end.

Altough a bit more faction diversity had been nice.

Part of the reason TEC Loyalist suck is that there is very little they can do compared to basic TEC or TEC Rebels in early - medium game. That their late game is weak too, makes them unplayable on a competivly level.

They economy only could be better by building 2 economic starbases in every gravity well instead of one.By the time you can afford to have 2 starbases per gravity well without severly harming your fleet the game will be probably over. In any case it wont make a notable difference compared to TEC Rebel economy.

As TEC Rebel have more useful techs (independent of if you own the graviy well or not), a better Titan and have no early - medium game disadvantages of any kind, their are the superior choice for TEC players.

I'd argue that the TL actually have the best corvette ability...dual SBs also is probably the best counter to Vasari whoring...

But yeah, TL are clearly a weak spot...it's not so much that you can't win as TL, it's just that whatever you can do with TL, you probably could have done just as good or better with TR...

I thought the Coronata was the more powerful of the two Advent Titans. It isn't; my bad.

I just wanted to know why you think this. For me Eradica is better as it can easily deal with infinite number of frigates, but Coronata is close to it, as it can deal huge damage to single hard targets and steal ships.

Put simply there are no factions or rebellion without Titans.

When you choose a faction you are really choosing your titan with the sprinkles of perks (research) that goes with that decision.

Lose rebellion and collapse the factions and you might actually make for fairly complete races with some pretty diverse strategies throughout the game play.

Just keep looking on forums, many players hate Titans, I think someone already made a mod for it (as I really like titans I am clearly not interested in reversing the game to Diplomacy, so that's why I don't know if there is a mod and where).
