Fallen Enchantress is presenting me an Auto Login option. I am confused.
What am I logging into?
Why do I need to log into something for a single player game?
Why is logging into something required for achievements/stat tracking in a single player game?
If there are achievements, why does Steam not list them?
Most importantly, why is Stardock interested in player logins and what purpose does it serve?
What steps have been taken/are in place to protect users/customers?
Between Ubisoft's Uplay backdoor executable, Steam's browser exploit, Blizzard's account hacking problems and numerous other hacks I'm very concerned about what services I use. I look forward to a response.
Thanks,
Nodor
Are you using Steam?
If yes, good luck. Don't know what Steam imposes on the game, but I sure wouldn't trust it.
If no, then you're in luck because you don't need to log in to play. The log in is optional and is editable, first time you enter the game, and then subsequently in the options. Log in was used during the beta for testing and transmititng of bug & crash data. Was very helpful in making the game as stable as it is today. I imagine that the system is still in place, so loggin in give SD helpful data about the game for future patches.
There are achievements, but it's not steamworks, so Steam won't track them. (as I understand)
Not sure as to the protection/steps that are in place if you choose to log in. (I personally don't)
I too am concerned about such services mentioned, and thus don't use them, but have no problem using FE without logging in.
