Advent rebels have issues autoattacking. Playing vs CPU only and constantly finding 1/2 a fleet stationary, not 'moving to position', autoattack is set = ALL auto atking, etc.
Makes them pretty unplayable
You must have done something to make it malfunction sice it would undoubtedly have been reported by now if it really didn't work the way it should. Most likely you have the attack range of your ships set to 'Hold Position' and that's the reason why they don't attack even when auto attacking is set to All.
I have almost the same problem, I modified the cobalt weapons from laser to autocannons and now they just spam detonate antimatter and doesn't attack even with auto attack enabled and the engage range set gravity well...
I have similar problems, it's not just with The Advent Rebels at all. Sometimes only the fighter/bombers, sometimes frigates and capital ships included. I chalked it up to shortcomings of the engine - not being able to process a high number of protocols - but now that I think of it, I don't remember it before Rebellion.
ya its an engine... ai thing. The ai can only do so many tasks at once... i think this partly a sync issue as well.
But, this is partly why you micro.
I've only seen it since latest patch. Nothing was set to Hold. In several cases the ships were in range to shoot something and didn't even turn. Card did not like anything like 'weapons disabled' etc.
e.g... a bug.
