That's great to hear. But I ask that you be careful not to ban players too quickly.

I read in a different thread about how to force the desync, and in one of my games that I was winning we got a desync. It was the exact set up for forcing the desync, but I sincerely doubt that the other team did it intentionally. Given its nature (at least from my understanding of it) it is not inconceivable that someone could accidentally trigger it. But I am sure you guys are already aware of this. Thanks again for helping with all of the problems.

I don't think there is any need to worry about that  I'm very happy that action was taken, though.

I know the thread you are talking about, and while that might be a cause of some sort of desync, I've never, EVER experienced it that way.  The desync exploit can be executed at any time.  SD/GPG should have more than enough info to indentify people using the exploit maliciously.  Also, be aware that not all desyncs are the result of a exploit.

Desyncs havent been that bad lately for me at least.

But I did see 2 today.  One at the very begining of a game, and one right befor my team was about to lose a game.  I dont think anyone on my team did it, it was a very funny game that was an epic fail for both sides. (they had 20 more kills than us and a warscore advantage, but it lasted a lonnggggg time. They were lvl 20 when were were 15.)

 

O yea, It seems that it usualy happens when someone drops but in both these instances noone left.

yeah when im offshore on my ship on wireless internets, i get desyncsw sometimes its a real shizzle in the nizzle.

     Well...that sounds very nice that you guys may actually data mine...but, after noticing I get credits for a a lost game (when actually they were wins...and this Bradoux character has done it once again (invalid gamestate)..well, just seems as though the threat isn't enough to stop folks from screwing with the game.  If, since this posting, someone has been banned...it would be nice to see a list that shows who and why.

I'm really tired of this desync business.

It seems now I do not get desyncs per say, but I do get frozen up games, with a crazy connection screen. usually most people can chat in /all. Usually one person is disconnected from most people. I'm guessing this is the "attempted desyncer".

Bottom line is multiple times, games my team were winning ... turned out to be losses in the stats b/c of this flaw/exploit. It only happens when my team is winning.

Stardock really has to get to the bottom of this. Us DG players have been through quite a run with online play from the start. For the game to be ruined by cheaters... it will all be a waste.

     I noticed that the invalid gamestate games are actually recorded just not shown on stat pages. The remedy for these issues is rather simple. Any invalid gamestate before 6 minutes into game does not count and any that occur after that time frame...well, count the stats....Highest scores go as wins. That fixes that. There would be no point in anyone causing this at all if it goes as a loss. Which is why, I would assume, they would cause this to happen. (IF it is actually someone doing it on purpose).

you are 100% wrong here.

Games that end with invalid error dont count at all.

And it IS being done on purpose at 90% of the times.

Some ppl just hack the game. Simple as that.

Dude, not 100 % wrong...you may want to reread the earlier post where it is said that it is in the database, just not recorded in the stats page. THAT IS HOW THEY ARE ABLE TO DIG DEEPER AND SEE PATTERNS. Anyway, now that we can dispose of the bs replies, I would love to know why the desyncs are continuing in more frequencies now.

Just to be clear - I don't think they bullshitted us.  I'm pretty sure they thought they were locked out and VERY SURE they wouldn't lie about something like that.  The question is what went wrong and how is it being addressed.
