Really, no difference? That is funny. I have never had connection issues myself and i notice a vast improvement. Joining is faster, more people easily connect. There are still some small issues, but I'd say +90% there.
The reason why its faster and more people can connect is because they've made it so its 2v2 instead of 3v3. Less people are needed to find and most likely they'll connect. I found 2v2 quite boring because there is no third person that you can have alternate lanes and gank someone etc.
Please fix it so 3v3 works frogboy!!!
