The game unofficially came out last weerk and officially this week. Reviewers have spoken, some found the game very good, others just good and some average. The scores range has been between 6.5-10. The multiplayer connectivity issue has been a real bitch for a lot of people but ones that is fixed (I hope it will be soon), we have to move on to other things which is helping the Developers improving Demigod by letting them know what needs fixing to make it a better game. The game as it is right now isn't bad but it could use a lot of improvement and it seems like there isn't much given for the price people have paid.
So I am going to list the things I saw on the forums (No I didn't search the forum the whole night) that people have mentioned.
- More Demigods
- Map maker -> Often improves and builts a better community with people sharing their creation or comparing it (contest)
- Observer slots
- Option to change colors
- Tutorial -> Even if it's an easy game to pickup and play there are some who will never quite get it.
- Replay fuction -> To learn from your mistaken and also improves and builts a better community with people sharing
- Ignore player button
- Option to random a Demigod
- Option to pause the game
- Option to resign when game looks like it's over
- No AI bots in multiplayer
- Show the numbers on HP/Mana bar
- Keep target unit HP/Mana bar displayed till they die or another command given
- Display target HP in the middle on top -> Most players center their view and can't be looking at the bottom right
- Let us be able to see allies items and skills, that way we can help them.
- Balance -> What those are I won't mention but the game can still use balancing
- Increase Demigods movespeed, not gamespeed. Maps are to big and they move to slow.
- Make creep circle bigger
- Different creeps for either dark or light side
- Colors of players on the mini map, not just red and green.
- Ping on mini map
- Clicking on mini map to move Demigod to location or to view the area
- Teleport by clicking on Mini map
- Allow teleporting by simply clicking an area and not having to click a building
- Left click displays selected units. Show HP, Damage, Armor.
- Make it easier to target allies
- View shop without being in an area near it
- View skill tree on death
- Remove gray screen when dead. Gives me seizure and would like to see clear to help my allies with communication
- Flags give to strong a boost
- Maps need adjustment -> To many towers in some and Crystal is located to close to Citadel delays game (even for 5min to long)
- Less narrow maps
- Map appropriate for game mode
- Maps located on non platform area, like Forest, snow area, deserts.
- Supporting (Sedna for example) gives low favor points
- Option to rebind
- When all opposing team leave, declare winner
- 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 automatching system
- Allow to enter game with friends
- New modes if possible
- Better way to move around the map. Items that allow TP at creeps or allied Demigod increase warpstone range
Update
- Toggle unit HP (equivalent to holding and releasing alt in WC3)
- In the menu, do network communications asynchronously so it does not lock the entire UI.
- Add a Character Selection game Mode (like draft, free pick, random, etc)
- Left clicking a store should not buy at it, only right clicking should! Why is left click "select" and right click "do stuff" in every situation except this?
- The health bars above characters exaggerate the amount of health missing compared to the actual amount missing, rendering them very innacurate. In many cases there is a tiny sliver of health left when the demigod is actually at around half. This needs to be fixed!
- Casting a spell/drinking a potion/etc should interrupt your move/attack action, not cancel it. When you finish casting your character should keep doing whatever it was doing before, whether that is running away, attacking a specific opponent, etc.
- In windowed mode when you move the mouse to the edge of the screen it doesn't scroll. Also there is only one resolution setting for windowed mode. Better windowed mode support would be nice.
- A way to switch teams when both teams are full. In fact, since players have a ready button, the host should be able to move players onto teams however they want!
- Sorting of catagory in multiplayer lobby. By ping, name, map, if the game is full or empty, etc. I honestly do not know why this is not in there already.
- Have more lobbies for different countries.
- Having lobbies for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 games.
- Option to join game by giving a name.
- Join a friends game.
- Be able to refresh your connection to somebody joining or in the game already.
- Client -> Host based Multiplayer and a dedicated Server Tool.
- Make the Demigod icon and center bottom of screen a "targetable" icon. This would help Sedna heal herself by making her easier to target in a crowd.
- Add other allied player hero icons to the screen and make them targetable as well for things like healing w/ Sedna. I also would like to see their health status and mana bars just so I can have a sense of how they are doing. Also add more "character specific" icons to the minimap so I can see which hero is where.
- Add a "cast bar" to enemies with a label so I know what they are doing when they are doing it. The rook hammer can be easily countered because it is slow and has an easily identifiable animation. This is great because it adds information to the game and players can act on that information. However, the rook is put at a disadvantage because other heroes can't be as easily countered in the same way because you often don't know what they are casting. This also goes for things like using consumables.
- Allow us to ping or make marks on the minimap. Guild Wars had a great "markup" system for the minimap. Players need to be able to communicate to each other to coordinate maneuvers. Typing works, but is slow. Quick symbols, marks, or pings on the minimap would be nice.
- Add icons for Generals for their summons and minions to allow better positional control.
- Party system for Skirmish and Pantheon
- change the appearance of portions of the board based on which team controls the flag, making the area around a flag lighter or darker
- Colission between Demigods
- Team Pantheon
- No autoattack while moving
- Attack move
- Reinforcement scaling
Again most of these were my suggestion but I am still putting it up here. You can argue about should and shouldn't be fixed or changed but that is the least important. It is for the developers to see what are the things people aren't necessarily saticefied with. I you have any other suggestions go ahead I will keep the list updated as I more start to come in.
