Cheating in dreadlords...

Ok, I got this game, played it... Got my but beat in campaign under "cakewalk" too many times. Ticked off, I tried using cheats and cant!!! Please, anyone tell me how I can use the cheats or what am I doing wrong? -Just so i can finish that one level!!

I went to the shortcut of gavcivll and typed "cheat" in the target window... Nothing! Do cheats even work still? Please help!!

Ok, lets make sure you got it typed in right:

"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe"

vs

"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe" cheat

Note the space between the " and the word cheat.

 

If you have it typed in like that...and it's to Galciv2.exe and not GC2Launch.exe, then perhaps are you running Vista?  I think I've heard of issue under Vista.

See the Wiki Article Cheats_and_keyboard_shortcuts.

Make sure your shortcut is pointing to the executable (GalCiv2.exe) and *not* the Launcher (GC2Launch.exe), also don't forget to include the quotes as in the following for DL, DA or TA respectively.

"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat
"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\GC2DarkAvatar.exe" cheat
"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe" cheat
