I noticed that 'Leftover Robots' are contributing 20% to the manufacturing research of at least one of my planets.  WTF?

(Yes, it might have been an ex-Yor world and there's a small chance it was once an Iconian world.  But that phrase would not be appropriate for either of their improvements.)  No, it was a world originally colonized by me.  Might be more than one - I didn't look all that closely.

Do world maps wrap from side to side?  They should.

I will occasionally see what appears to be a hex-shaped tool tip over a hex displaying the distance in hexes and in turns from (presumably) the selected ship.  But I have been unable to figure out how to produce this very useful display when I want it.  How to?

BTW, there are warnings on the Notepad++ 64-bit edition, that it isn't ready for prime time.  But I've been using it for some time, along with the supposedly unstable Dictionary, and have had zero problems.  Other than a few basic ones, very few plug-ins are available for it yet, but if you don't need them, I'd go for it.

Since approval is morale divided by population, if you're not already at 100% a drop in population can actually increase your approval.

The main way I get a world with more population than it can feed is the build Brindle's Observatory, which gives you a planet with 10 population when the latest caps in Crusade have been 3 or 5.  I don't know if that has been fixed in 2.6 or not.  There have been bugs in the past where after invading a planet you end up with a huge population, I think those are either known by the devs or maybe fixed by now.  Also I haven't played as the Yor in a while, I'm not sure they have a population cap.

I occurs to me that they'd have to re-draw them, or at least reset the grid, since the edge splits half the hexes.  Certainly not un-doable.

A race is a subspecies. A faction is a group. This is about being acurate, calling them races implies that being from different worlds we are the same. 

I have no firsthand knowledge, but I think it's safe to assume it was because people hate it.

Personally, I'm not opposed to the concept, but I think it comes in too hard and fast.  Maybe max level of 10%, with a fair range before it has any effect at all.

I wonder if it's intended to cover "Team" as well.

You need to associate XML files with another program on your computer. I personally use notepad++.  It is easy to use and supports nine zillion file formats with IDE like text-coloring based on file type.
