1.90 latest build - Bug? strange shipyard production

Hi,

I've just started a new game as the Thalans. It's turn 22 and with a hive and a durantium refinery I have 52 production and 8 research in my capital at 50-50-0 which, since I hit a goody hut - or rather singularity - and got lucky is providing military subsidies.

However, my shipyard is consistently producing over 90 production a turn suggesting that it's getting 100% of my output even though 50% is set to research.. Surely this isn't what's intended?

Cheers,

Jon

There are some idealogy which gives you 100% production to shipyards as well as some planetary colonization events that also grant 100% shipyard production. That could be the reason but we have no log which keeps track of events or where they happened.

In the Govern Civilization screen there is a slider underneath the big economy wheel.  It governs the distribution of manufacturing between Social and Military building.

On each Planet management screen, the distribution of manufacturing can be seen by hovering over the manufacturing section of the display.  You get a break down of all the bonuses and such, then a break down of the distribution. It would be helpful if the break down did the arithmetic and gave you the actual manufacturing subtotals as well as percentages, but it doesn't.  Still you should be able to use that to match up to the manufacturing that is coming into the shipyard.

Hi,

Yes of course I know that there are ideologies which increase shipyard production and techs too. But this is in the opening and I've been using the tech (bottom) line of the benevolent tree. I'm just checking now to see if there was a global event that I missed but there aren't any.

Of course I can read the screens and they say that total manufacturing in the capital is 53.6 all of which (using military subsidies) is going into the shipyard.

There can be an overflow that increases this but given that I was producing continuously it surely shouldn't stack up to 90 odd two turns running which it did.

I've just run it now and on successive turns it was 59.6, 94.6, 59.1 and that makes sense using the overflows but I still don't understand 90 two turns in a row given that I was building ships continuously.

Actually I can see now sort of:

Say that I had 88/89 stored then I get 53

I get a ship and 52 overflow + 53 next turn = 105 (registered) - 89 = a ship + 16 overflow.

Next turn it registers as 16 + 53 = 69 (no ship)

Next 69 + 53 = 122: a ship + 33

Next 33 + 53 = 86 registered

Still the two 90s in a row seem wrong like the overflows are being miscounted or something.

Cheers,

Jon
