Dear Stardock,
Why does the AI value these agreements so much? According to the information on a free trade agreement, this provides a 25% boost to the economy and last for 50 turns. In my current game the vast majority of the AI is earning less than 100 per turn. Using that number a 25% boost is 25 credits, over 50 turns 1,250 credits. Now I know the economy will increase over 50 turns, however, why are they willing to pay in most cases twice that value for that agreement? This doesn't make good money management choices. Please take a look at this for the diplomacy update as currently I'm starting to pull away in my game because of the cheese free trade agreements, yes please give me 3000 credits, when prior to that it would take me 100 turns to get that much... Oh 80 factions in the game yes I now can purchase anything I want and win the game...
